Meet Brandon Herman, Founder & Owner
A husband, dog-dad, and extremely hard worker, Brandon is one who shows up ready to tackle whatever task is handed his way.
Herman Customs started off when Brandon first got his drivers license in 2004. He started cleaning up scrap metal and junk vehicles for a little extra gas money. The only way he could get the scrap loads hauled in was by borrowing a trailer. He kept hauling and separating metals until he saved up enough money to purchase his own car trailer.
Hauling and scrapping vehicles takes up some space and his parents weren't fond of junk piling up in the front yard. His grandparents helped him out with a spot of land that was out of sight and out of mind for the metals to be stored until the scrap price increased.
After graduating high school in 2006, Brandon worked in the construction field and still currently does today. At any construction site, there is a lot of waste, lumber and garbage to dispose of. This is how the dumpster service was introduced for Herman Customs. Brandon decided to start building his own dumpster trailers to rent out. There are now three dumpster trailers available for rent for most construction sites or many household clean up projects.
In 2011 Brandon purchased his grandparent's farmette. He continued to gradually add equipment and different trailers to his business and continued growing the scrap piles. A few years after purchasing his new home, an opportunity arose for him to buy two large pole sheds and the surrounding land connected to the farmette. The sheds work great for dry winter and summer storage of boats, campers and RVs.
Now, as of the start to 2019, Herman Customs launched its website to help serve all customers better, along with the fleet of trailers and equipment to tackle many different jobs. Herman Customs is proudly serving the Portage area and hopes to help make your future projects easier and your junk disappear.
